Hi all
I wanted to speak with you all at once and this appears to be the best way to achieve that. Last week I had an appointment with a fund chaser (Claire from SME solutions) who is happy to place a national lottery bid for IT equipment on behalf of 'Eastbourne Home education' group. I have recorded the conversation so if anyone wants to have a listen then I can send you a URL (about an hour long). Basically she is going to write the bid and send it to me to approve and submit. It will get us up to £10k to purchase a library of laptops and ipads for home ed kids to borrow (aprox 20). The scheme will last for one year.
Since then Claire has given me a provisional list of items that the money would pay for. Your feedback would be most welcome and so I have attached this list.
At some point we need to meet to decide the following :
-A contract for use
-Logistics of how to manage the equipment (pay for aps etc)
-How to insure the equipment (possible part of the contract for use)
-What will happen to the equipment once the year is up
-How equipment will be accessed / recovered from families
-How it will be advertised (ie website, facebook, yahoo group)
-Whether families taking part can contribute to a shared online project.
-We need to be making regular payments into and out from our bank account in the next few months to achieve the requirement of the funding
-The possibility of applying for another grant (phase two) and if so what other computing or electronic resources would people like to request.
The bid will be placed for the round of funding at the end of March and so we should hear back by April.
I hope that is all making sense. I will carry on looking at other such funding opportunities in the mean time.
suggestions for a meeting???
Thanks
Joss x
